AfyaXplore Program

Welcome to “AfyaXplore Program” -TibaSalama’s flagship program dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and international academic collaboration in community health.

Through this platform, we partner with local and international universities to generate evidence, co-design solutions, and nurture the next generation of public health leaders. AfyaXplore Program connects students and researchers to real-world experiences within our grassroots programs led by Community Health Workers (CHWs).

Together, we explore and address critical health challenges affecting mothers and children aged 0-5, including:

• Reproductive health and family planning
• Mental health, child infections, and first aid
• Social determinants of health and health economics

Participants in AfyaXplore engage in hands-on field training, data collection, primary health education, and community mobilization-while gaining unique insights into how health systems function in low-resource settings. We believe their collaboration greatly contributes to the program’s motto: “Innovate. Research. Transform Lives.” AfyaXplore is where global minds meet community action.

This program targets direct collaboration with specific universities, departments, or focused student groups who have a clear goal of experiential learning by living in Tanzania for a set period. Interested students can apply by sending a dedicated email to us expressing their intent and proposing a plan for successful collaboration.
